Attendees include Makiko Tanaka (Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, Japan), Professor Jean-Lou Chameau (President, California Institute of Technology (Caltech)), Professor Yuichiro Anzai (President, JSPS) and other leaders from academic, political and business sectors.   

 

The STS forum was founded in 2003 with the objective of creating a global network and providing a framework for open discussions that promote progress in science and technology. The forum brings together key players from the scientific, political, and business sectors to discuss the promises and risks of science and technology within a globalized world. The STS forum and the New York Academy of Sciences invites 10 excellent young scientists from across the world each year to propose how their innovative research will contribute to the discussions.

Selected by Croucher Foundation, Dr. Ho is invited to attend UK-Hong Kong Frontiers of Science series held in Kalvi Royal Society International Centre at Chicheley Hall in Buckinghamshire, UK, September 5^th-8^th, 2011, representing Young Scientists from Hong Kong.

 

Frontiers of Science is an internation programme for outstanding early career scientists which was initiated by the US National Academy of Sciences in 1989 and has been adopted by the Royal Society in the UK and other national science academics and organizations such as the Alexander Von Humbolt Foundataion and the Chinese Academy of Sciences.
